Two men with weapons and 120 kilograms of gunpowder were detained in Rostov-on-Don. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk in her Telegram channel.
A criminal case has been opened under Articles 222 (“Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, forwarding or carrying of weapons, main parts of firearms, ammunition”) and 222.1 (“Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, forwarding or carrying of explosive substances or explosive devices”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to the department, police officers in Rostov-on-Don and Bataysk detained two suspects in the illegal circulation of weapons during operational and investigative activities. During the searches, 183 boxes were found, which contained 4.5 thousand cartridges of various calibers, 120 kilograms of smokeless powder, 26 units of firearms and pistol components.
They have been charged and the investigation into the crime continues.
