The "Russian Venice" festival will be held in the Ivanovo region on Saturday

According to the organizers, this year the flotilla with artistic painting will increase significantly, more than twice: 14 boats will be launched, including four large ones, 9 meters long. The key event of the festival will begin at 14:00.
In addition, from 11:00 to 16:00, master classes in academic rowing will be organized at the pier, conducted by the Rowing Federation of the Ivanovo Region. This type of activity will be presented at the festival for the first time.
The on-water program also includes rowing competitions. There are interactive boat painting workshops.
A crafts fair will open on the Prince Dmitry Pozharsky Embankment from 10:30. The food stalls will offer local delicacies such as aromatic fish soup, juicy pies with fish filling, Parskie kalachi and other tasty treats. At the same time, the "Street of Artists" will be open - an open-air exhibition. From 12:00 to 16:00, master classes for all ages will be held in a special tent, where everyone will be able to create and decorate souvenirs in the form of boats, fish and anchors.
The results of three competitions will be announced on the main stage: "Funny Flotilla", "Fish of My Dreams" and "Yuzhsky Souvenir". About 350 people from the Ivanovo Region, including children and adults, took part in these competitions. The best works will be exhibited on stands.
The program will include musical performances from creative groups from Yuzha and Shuya. A special guest will be the winner of the project "The Voice. No Longer Children" Veronika Syromlya.
At 10:00, 12:00 and 15:00, as part of the festival, free excursions (by appointment) will be organized to the folk crafts enterprise "Kholuyskaya Strochka", where you can get acquainted with unique artistic embroidery. It should be noted that stitch embroidery has been known in the village of Kholuy since the 17th century. The first artel engaged in this embroidery appeared in 1920, but in the late 1990s, the enterprise ceased its activities. In 2020, the craft was resumed at a new factory called "Kholuyskaya Strochka". The works of the craftswomen are presented in various techniques, such as stitch embroidery, satin stitch and Richelieu.
Every hour, from 11:00 to 16:00, free excursions around Kholui will be held in "Russian Venice", introducing the history of this ancient village, famous for its icon painters and artists. Participants will gather near the temple complex. Guests will visit the 18th century temple complex, the Museum of Kholui Art and the Puzanov-Molev House Museum. In addition, you can take an independent excursion using the audio guide from local historian Mikhail Pechkin, available on the Visit Ivanovo website.
For the convenience of visiting the festival, as last year, additional free buses will run between Yuzha and Kholui. Departure from Yuzha from the Krestyanskaya stop is scheduled for 10:00 and 11:00. Buses from the Yuzha bus station to Kholui will depart every hour at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00. Return trips from Kholui to Yuzha will depart at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30 and 16:30.
The Russian Venice festival is designed to promote the revival and preservation of traditions, as well as the development of folk arts and crafts in the village of Kholuy. The event is organized by the Ivanovo Region Tourism and Hospitality Development Center with the support of Governor Stanislav Voskresensky and the Ivanovo Region Government.
It is important to note that the Russian Venice festival is included in the regional events calendar for 2025. More detailed information is available on the Visit Ivanovo website.
