Moscow court sentences man to lengthy prison term for attempted murder outside restaurant

The Simonovsky Court of the capital handed down a harsh sentence to a man who tried to kill his friend near a restaurant in March 2019.

As MK learned, the incident took place on Danilovskaya Embankment. During the argument, the aggressor stabbed his opponent at least 5 times. Witnesses prevented him from being finished off, and the victim was taken to hospital. The attacker fled abroad. In 2021, he was convicted of another serious crime, and investigators from the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Moscow managed to prove the citizen's involvement in the incident at the restaurant. According to the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Moscow, the perpetrator was sentenced to 19 years in a maximum security penal colony by partial addition of sentences.
