"Furniture City" project in Gaziantep
The groundbreaking ceremony of the furniture city project, which will consist of 100 real estates, was held in cooperation with the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality and Oğuzeli Municipality, with the aim of increasing the industrial production and economic potential of the region.
Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber, who attended the ceremony, stated that Oğuzeli has great potential in furniture production and said, "Gaziantep is a city that exports to 190 countries. We are also ambitious in the furniture sector. This project will carry Oğuzeli to the point it deserves. May God bless it."
Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin stated that this project has a 10-year history and noted: "The furniture issue is a 10-year journey, but it was a project we believed in. Oğuzeli is a very important center in terms of logistics. We are the current trustees of a great civilization and Oğuzeli will get the value it deserves."

Oğuzeli Mayor Bekir Öztekin emphasized that an important step was taken with the project that unites the district with Gaziantep. Gaziantep Chamber of Industry President Adnan Ünverdi stated that Oğuzeli will be a new İnegöl in furniture production.
Oğuzeli Furniture City Cooperative President Ayşe Pınar Tümüklü also stated that the project will be completed in three stages and will cover a total area of 1 million 300 thousand square meters, and said, "A 60 thousand square meter shopping mall will be built in our first stage. There is no such shopping mall for the furniture sector in the Eastern, Southeastern and Mediterranean regions. Oğuzeli will be the center in this area."
After the speeches, the protocol members pressed the button and laid the foundation of the furniture city.
