Accident in Izmir: 7 injured

The accident took place at around 22:00 at the Gerenköy junction, 16 kilometers away from the Foça district center.

The pickup truck driven by Sedat T. and the light commercial vehicle driven by İlker A. collided at the intersection of the roads of the rural Gerenköy, Kozbeyli, Ilıpınar and Bağarası neighborhoods of the district.

Drivers Sedat T. and İlker A. and Sevda T., Semra K., Halilcan K., Burakcan A. and Nurten A. in the vehicles were injured in the accident. The injured trapped in the light commercial vehicle were removed by the fire department teams that arrived at the scene and handed over to healthcare personnel. The injured, who received first aid at the scene, were sent to nearby hospitals by ambulance. It was learned that Burakcan A., who was taken to Menemen State Hospital for treatment, was in critical condition.

On the other hand, it was stated that there were traffic lights at the intersection but they had not been working for a while. The gendarmerie launched an investigation into the accident.
