Festival City Bursa: Nine-Day Art Journey Completed

Historical City Meets Art
The festival, which integrated with the historical texture and natural beauties of Bursa, hosted a wide range of cultural encounters, from exhibitions to concerts, from theater performances to panels. The exhibition titled “Pablo Picasso: Creation is Everything” opened at the Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center and brought together 50 original works of the master artist, consisting of engravings, drawings and lithographies, with art lovers. The digital exhibitions set up at the same center brought together traditional and contemporary art and offered viewers a visual experience.
Famous Artists Keep Rhythm to Festival Enthusiasm
During the festival, concerts were held in various parts of Bursa and featured popular artists such as Haluk Levent, Ebru Yaşar, Ferhat Göçer, Mazhar-Fuat, Buray, Sefo and Merve Özbey. Plays such as “Kiralık Konağın Kaba Güldürüsü”, “Kerbala” and “7 Husbands with Hürmüz” staged by the State Theatres and State Opera and Ballet attracted great attention. Georgian Folk Dances and Mehter Band shows were also staged as part of the festival program.
Wide Participation in Academic and Cultural Activities
The intellectual aspect of the festival was also strengthened with the talks, panels and workshops organized. The panel titled “Bursa in the History of Sufism” shed light on the mystical past of the city; while the creative workshops prepared for children and young people attracted the attention of families. Events such as the cinema meeting with the participation of Yeşim Tonbaz and the interview with the illustrator of Kral Şakir also met with the young audience.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı stated that the event was not only an art organization but also a cultural movement that revived the identity of cities, and made the following statements:

The Bursa Culture Road Festival, where history and art, tradition and innovation are intertwined, attracted attention as a strong reflection of culture and art policies not only in Bursa but throughout Turkey. Bursa, which met with art for nine days, gained another valuable contribution to its cultural memory after the festival.
