Fire breaks out on the roof of a historic mosque in Erzurum

A fire broke out on the roof of the 18th-century Aşağı Mumcu Mosque in the Yakutiye district for an unknown reason.

Upon notice, the Metropolitan Municipality fire department and police teams and a riot control vehicle (TOMA) were dispatched to the region.

While the police took precautions by drawing security cordon in the area, firefighters started working to extinguish the fire.

The fire was extinguished with the intervention of firefighters and the support of TOMA.
