Justice Minister Tunç: The aim is a terror-free Türkiye

Tunç answered questions from members of the press about current issues in front of the AK Party Headquarters.
When asked about the DEM Party delegation's İmralı meeting, Tunç said that the DEM Party members, to whom the Ministry of Justice gave permission for the meeting, had met twice, on December 28 and January 22.
Tunç, stating that the requests for the third meeting reached the Ministry of Justice today, said that they fulfilled the permission requests regarding this matter, the permissions were granted, and the meeting will take place tomorrow.
In response to the question "Is a statement expected from the leader of the terrorist organization? How will the process work?", Tunç replied, "As you know, the DEM Party members in the delegation will have a meeting tomorrow. Of course, there may be developments after that meeting regarding whether a statement will be made or not."
Minister Tunç responded to the question, "There were some discussions regarding the form of the statement. 'Will it be in writing or will it be visual?' You had stated in one of your previous speeches that the legislation did not allow it. How do you approach the situation in that regard?" as follows:
"Now, as we have explained before, our legislation specifies how convicts will meet in prisons, how they will meet with their lawyers and relatives. Therefore, our legislation regarding convicts' meeting via video from prison is not suitable for this. Of course, within this framework, there is an important study that Mr. (Devlet) Bahçeli mentioned in his group speech and started. There is a goal of a terror-free Turkey. The will of our President towards this call after Mr. Bahçeli's speech is obvious and there is a study that has started.
The whole goal here is a Turkey without terrorism. The complete end of terrorism, the termination of the terrorist organization that has caused great harm to this country for 40 years, this is the whole goal. As we enter the Turkish Century, there is a great effort for Turkey to take a step towards a peaceful future. It is very important for our country that this effort is realized by ending terrorism."
Yılmaz Tunç, drawing attention to the fact that material and moral losses have been experienced due to terrorism for 40 years, said that the biggest obstacle to the development of the country is terrorism.
Emphasizing that Turkey is a country that fights against all kinds of terrorism, Tunç continued his words as follows:
"As we begin the Turkish Century, there is a will to remove this obstacle in front of us. We value the efforts in this regard. If a statement is to be made, especially regarding the dissolution of the terrorist organization, of course the addressee, the leader of the terrorist organization, will make this statement regarding the terrorist organization and if the terrorist organization lays down its arms and takes this statement into consideration, an important stage will have been taken in terms of our country taking a step towards a Turkey without terrorism."
In response to the question, "Is there a possibility of a change in the legislation?", Minister Tunç said, "Let the DEM Party members' meetings take place tomorrow. We will make the necessary statements in the following process, but such a situation is not the case at the moment."
