President Erdoğan: We are strengthening our cooperation against threats in the markets

President Erdoğan sent a video message to the 64th World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) General Assembly and Annual Meeting, hosted by Borsa Istanbul. He welcomed all participants and wished the meeting a fruitful outcome. Erdoğan noted that they are implementing a comprehensive economic program to maintain balanced and inclusive growth, strengthen production capacity, and ensure lasting financial stability. He said, "Our financial sector is at the center of our program, and the depth, product diversity, and accessibility of our capital markets are improving. Borsa Istanbul is taking firm steps toward becoming the leading market infrastructure provider for the entire region, along with our country. Our exchange ecosystem is increasing its global competitiveness with digitalization, sustainable financing, and participation-based products."
'Türkiye IS READY TO SHARE ITS ROOTED EXPERIENCES'President Erdoğan stated that the Istanbul Financial Center is the product of a strong vision aimed at becoming a hub for financial services, saying, "The World Federation of Exchanges General Assembly, held here today with representatives of major stock exchanges from around the world, is important for shaping the future of capital markets based on shared wisdom. Turkey is ready to share its deep-rooted experience not only to achieve its own goals but also to ensure financial stability at the regional and global levels."
'INCOME JUSTICE IS BEING DETERIORATED MORE THAN EVER'President Erdoğan emphasized that capital markets should not only be profit-driven but also consider their social and environmental impacts. He said, "Money laundering, illicit fund transfers, and manipulative transactions undermine confidence in global markets. We are strengthening our international cooperation against these threats and prioritizing the development of transparency, auditing, and information-sharing mechanisms. Global economic inequalities necessitate developing solutions that increase the inclusiveness of the financial system. The gap between the world's richest and poorest is widening, and income equity is deteriorating more than ever. I believe that joint efforts under the umbrella of the World Federation of Exchanges will contribute to closing this gap. I find Borsa Istanbul's active participation in all processes and management of the Federation invaluable. With these thoughts in mind, I hope your meeting will be beneficial, thank everyone who contributed to its implementation, and respectfully greet you."
