Call from Murat Çalık's lawyer: The situation is very clear, his health condition is not suitable for prison

Arrested Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who has a history of cancer twice, has been hospitalized in the hematology ward of İzmir City Hospital since July 18.
Çalık's lawyer, Melih Koçhan, shared a post on social media, stating that his hospitalization process began 44 days ago and that the difficult process continues.
Melih Koçhan said, "The ward where he is staying is a place where patients with suppressed immune systems are monitored and the risk of infection is very high."
Melih Koçhan's post is as follows:
Mehmet Murat Çalık's hospitalization process began on June 20 at Izmir Katip Çelebi University Hospital. As of today, it has been 44 days.
He has been hospitalized in the hematology ward of Izmir City Hospital since July 18. This challenging process is still ongoing.
The ward where he's staying is a facility where patients with compromised immune systems are monitored and at high risk of infection. Entry is only permitted with special protective equipment. Meetings are allowed under limited circumstances.
During this period, numerous tests were conducted. Nutritional support was provided, and efforts were made to stabilize his weight with nutritional supplements. However, despite all these procedures, the awaited report has still not been prepared.
But there is no need to wait any longer, because the picture is very clear: Mehmet Murat Çalık is in such a state of health that he cannot remain in prison conditions.
This is not just a medical necessity; it is a legal reality and, most importantly, a humanitarian responsibility. It is a cry rising from the public conscience.
"Don't stay silent. Take action without delay."
