New cigarette price hike!

With the first month of the new year, cigarettes were added to the list of products whose prices increased from needle to thread; Special Consumption Tax increased by 7.56 percent, and this increase pushed prices up in many product groups.

Another price hike has appeared for cigarettes, which have increased by at least 5 lira. Erol Dündar, President of the Tekel Dealers Mutual Aid Association, spoke about the price hikes for alcohol and cigarettes.

Dündar, in his statement to Elips News, pointed out the price hikes and said, "There will be no price hike for alcohol. A 5 lira increase is expected for cigarettes in March."

Dündar also stated that the recent deaths due to consumption of counterfeit alcohol pose a major threat to public health.
