Vahap Seçer was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the TBB

The Union of Turkish Municipalities (TBB) elected its acting mayor today following the arrest of the Union President, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, and the Acting Mayor of Adana Metropolitan Municipality, Zeydan Karalar.
Two candidates participated in the election: Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer and Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç.
THE ELECTION HAS BEEN IN THE FINAL ROUND, VAHAP SEÇER WAS ELECTED AS VICE PRESIDENTIn the first round of the election, Vahap Seçer received 457 votes, while Ahmet Metin Genç received 252. Since the absolute majority of 576 votes was not reached, the election went to a second round.
In the second round of the election, Vahap Seçer received 456 votes and Ahmet Metin Genç 218. Since neither candidate reached 576 votes, the election proceeded to a third round, which did not require an absolute majority.
In the final round, Ahmet Metin Genç received 199 votes, while Vahap Seçer received 453 votes to become the Deputy Chairman of the Union of Turkish Municipalities.
