CHP's votes will increase, not the operations.

CHP's votes will increase, not the operations.

Operations targeting CHP-run municipalities, which began with Esenyurt Municipality and extended to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, have spread throughout Anatolia. CHP officials stated that the operations, described as a "Wave," have "swallowed up the national will."

Operations targeting CHP-run municipalities have intensified. Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar and Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek were arrested. Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere was placed under house arrest.

CONTINUE THE FIGHT

Gathering at CHP headquarters on July 10th, CHP mayors emphasized, "We will continue the fight." Emphasizing that the CHP will not withdraw from the streets, the mayors declared, "We will continue to fulfill the responsibility given to us by the people in the local elections in the best possible way." Regarding the footage alleged to be footage of bribery targeting the Manavgat Municipality, CHP members said, "If there is something wrong, we will be the ones who will object most strongly. We do not have the AKP's tradition of 'A broken arm stays in its sleeve.' We will not tolerate bad apples among us. We will take the necessary steps in accordance with the report of the committee appointed by our Chairman Özgür Özel to investigate the incident."

SUPPORT FROM HEADQUARTERS

Gökhan Zeybek, CHP Deputy Chairman for Local Governments and Resilient Cities, also commented on operations targeting CHP municipalities on BirGün. Zeybek emphasized that three units within CHP headquarters—a Legislation Support Unit, a Legal Support Unit, and a Revenue Raising Support Unit—work to support local governments. He said, "We support our municipalities on any issue they request."

NO STEP BACK

CHP member Zeybek emphasized that the usual practices of municipalities are being turned into criminal activity when it comes to CHP-run municipalities, commenting, "We are watching what is happening with astonishment. But we will not back down from resisting and fighting ."

WARNING TO PRESIDENTS

Pointing out that the government is keeping a close eye on CHP-led municipalities, Zeybek continued:

We issued the necessary warnings to our mayors. We told them, whose primary concern is the well-being of their citizens, that they must act more sensitively and cautiously in the new process. District municipalities, in particular, are being criticized for calling on local businesspeople to support sports clubs. We stated that our mayors should stay away from professional sports clubs. The public is asking, "Will operations targeting CHP-run municipalities increase in the new term?" The only thing that will increase in the future is CHP votes.
