Flames rose from the Sultangazi Urban Forest

According to reports, a fire broke out in the Sultangazi Urban Forest around 3:50 PM for an unknown reason. Numerous firefighters were dispatched to the scene upon receiving a report. As flames rose from the forest, crews arrived and began working to extinguish the blaze. Residents in the forest were evacuated, and a police helicopter scanned the area. Firefighters responded to the fire and began a cooling operation. The burned area was captured from the air.

On the ninth anniversary of the thwarted July 15th coup attempt, various events were held in Bağcılar as part of "July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day," which was held this year under the theme "The Name of Victory is Turkey." The daylong events, organized by the Bağcılar Municipality, began with a breakfast with July 15th veterans and a visit to the grave of July 15th martyr Muhammed Ambar at Kirazlı Cemetery. Following the noon prayer, the Mawlid al-Sharif was recited for the martyrs at the Bağcılar Central Mosque.
Democracy and Unity March was heldAt 9:00 p.m., the Democracy and Unity March was held. District residents of all ages, from the elderly to the young, joined the July 15 Democracy and Unity March on Çarşı Street, waving Turkish flags. Participants marched to Bağcılar Square and toured the July 15th themed art exhibition there.
The special program, which featured Bağcılar District Governor Abdullah Uçgun and Bağcılar Mayor Yasin Yıldız meeting with residents in Bağcılar Square, began with a moment of silence, the National Anthem, and the recitation of the Quran. The evening ended with a mini-concert by the Bilgi Evleri Mehter Band, while students sang heroic songs. The program, which featured a live performance by Bağcılar Hikmet Barutçugil Fine Arts High School students, also included screenings of documentaries and short films about July 15th.

We cannot boast enough about being a member of this cherished nation. For that struggle to be valued, that day must not be forgotten."
Hearts united in the streets of BağcılarPresident Yıldız stated that they had gathered to commemorate a legend written in golden letters and our nation's unwavering commitment to independence. He said, "On the night of July 15th, upon the call of our President, our people flocked to bridges and squares as the sound of salutes rose from the minarets. That night, hearts united in the streets of Bağcılar. Prayers soared to the heavens. The nation united as one. The attempt targeting our democracy was repelled by our nation's epic resistance. Thus, our nation demonstrated its strong commitment to democracy to the entire world. On this occasion, I commemorate all our martyrs with mercy and gratitude."
Continuing his speech, Yıldız addressed the Terror-Free Turkey project, saying: "Not even a leaf can move in these lands without the nation's permission. There is no power or will above the will of the nation. Today, under the leadership of our President, we continue our most determined march toward the goal of a Great Turkey Century. The dawn of a great and powerful Türkiye has begun to break. The 47-year scourge of terrorism has entered the process of ending. Turkey has entered a period of closing a long, painful period. In the words of our President, a new page has opened for our country."
The July program concluded with a democracy vigil by the participants.
