Will the earthquake in Balıkesir affect Istanbul?

The 6.1 magnitude earthquake, which occurred in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir and caused destruction in some buildings, was felt in many provinces in the Marmara Region, especially in Istanbul.
Following the earthquake, the question "Will the earthquake in Balıkesir trigger the fault line in Istanbul?" came to the fore.
Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made a written statement on the issue via his social media account.
"IT MAY HAVE PLACED STRESS ON THE FAULTS IN MARMARA"Görür said that the tremor in Sındırgı may have placed stress on the faults in the Marmara Region, and that the northern branch of the North Anatolian Fault Line (NAF) would not be affected by this earthquake.
Görür's post is as follows:
"There are questions about whether the Alakır-Sındırgı/Balıkesir earthquakes will affect Istanbul and the Marmara region. They may have added stress to the faults in the Marmara Region and affected the stress areas, but I don't think they will affect the northern branch of the NAF. I hope they get well soon."
