Schengen Visa Statement from Ömer Bolat

Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat made important statements regarding the Schengen visa at the Turkey-EU High Level Trade Dialogue meeting. Stating that the EU Commission will implement a new threshold system to speed up visa processes, Bolat evaluated this work as a positive development.

Bolat emphasized that they demanded a simplified application process, especially for business people, drivers, academics and students, and the introduction of long-term and multiple-entry visa applications. He also said that personnel and technical infrastructure in EU representations should be strengthened.

The Minister of Trade stated that Türkiye's expectation is for the Schengen visa liberalization to be implemented in all EU countries as soon as possible.
