1 person dead in fatal single-vehicle crash in Tillsonburg

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a single-vehicle collision in Tillsonburg that left one person dead Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the crash around 8:30 a.m. along Vienna Road between Simcoe Street and Old Vienna Road, police said.

Few details have been released, but police said the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle involved was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

Police have closed Vienna Road from Simcoe to Old Vienna for the ongoing investigation, and in a media release issued around 1:40 p.m., said the closure was expected to last several hours.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
