2 London teens charged with 2nd-degree murder after fight with weapons
Two London teens are due in court Tuesday on charges of second-degree murder in connection with a violent incident over the weekend in a southeast end neighbourhood.
The charges stem from the death of a 27-year-old London man, who was located by police with serious life-threatening injuries in the area of Breton Park Crescent and Manitoulin Drive around 1:40 a.m. Sunday.
Police say they received multiple 911 calls from neighbours about a group of people fighting with weapons.
The victim was transported to hospital by paramedics where he was pronounced dead, "despite all life-saving efforts made by all first responders," police said in a statement.
A 15-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy, both from London, are jointly charged with second-degree murder in the case, police said. The pair cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and it's not clear how or if the parties were known to each other.
The teens remain in custody with a Tuesday court date.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, witnessed suspicious activity, heard anything unusual, or has surveillance or dashcam video from the area at the time is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
"Even the smallest piece of information could be vital to this investigation," police said.
