Here's what's open and closed in London this Labour Day

With the end of August, Labour Day is here.

Here's a look at what's open and closed this Monday.

Recreation

The City of London keeps a list of free recreational activities ranging from yoga to roller skating to arts and crafts and swimming. These are available at a number of city community centres, and most of the programs (but not all) are registration-free.

Select public pools will be open across the city.

Sept. 1 marks the last chance this year for Londoners to enjoy spray pads across the city. Wading pools in most of London are already closed for the season, but the wading pools at Springbank and East Lions Park will be open.

Storybook Gardens will be open in Springbank Park from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

London Children's Museum will be open and is featuring an open studio in their Discovery Lab. Other popular places for fun like East Park and Boler Mountain will both be open.

All London Public Library Branches are closed.

Drinks, Food, Shopping

White Oaks Mall, CF Masonville Mall and Westmount Shopping Centre will be closed for the day.

Some liquor, beer and grocery stores may be closed or have reduced hours. Check hours with your local store.

The Labatt Beer Store will be open.

Transit

London Transit will be running on a holiday schedule. For up-to-date route times and schedules, check realtime.londontransit.ca.

Banks and Government Services

Banks will be closed for the day, and Canada Post offices will be closed too.

There will be no City of London garbage collection. Waste pickup is rescheduled for Tuesday, and you can double-check the City calendar for specifics for your area.
