NYFW Spring/Summer 2026: Accessories and Maximalist Kitsch Are Ruling Street Style

NYFW Spring/Summer 2026: Accessories and Maximalist Kitsch Are Ruling Street Style

For some, September marks the start of football season and fall semester classes. For the style-obsessed, however, it's synonymous with New York Fashion Week (NYFW) and a back-to-back schedule of runway shows, pop-ups, parties, and endless amounts of people watching.

On the runways, NYFW Spring/Summer 2026 is already proving to be a thrill with party monsters at Area, shadow selves at Collina Strada, animal ferocity at Off-White, and much more. Outside of the shows, attendees bring the spirit and spectacle by way of delightfully-unexpected accessorizing, sharp hairstyles, and a streetwise attitude to pull it all together. “I like to put together looks that are like 10 different pieces of things that most people would say are impractical, and just go for it," Clara Perlmutter tells Teen Vogue. Sometimes, more is more, and that's where the fun lay.

To musician RaiNao, NYFW never fails to bring “lots of colors, lots of different styles, and lots of people feeling confident” to the city. Meanwhile, for Honey Balenciaga, it's all about the characters attendees craft. “It's not just an outfit. I am stepping into the designer's world, and I want to build that character," she notes.

From off-calendar shows drawing the industry's next gen, to timeless silhouettes outside of the CFDA catwalks, follow Teen Vogue throughout the week as we explore the many style camps, methods to dressing, and sheer energy of attendees that make fashion week what it is.
