Premier Inn Hit by Flat UK Demand, Cuts Outlook for Germany

Premier Inn-owner Whitbread reported weaker first-half results on Thursday as flat UK demand and higher costs weighed on profit, while a slowdown in Germany prompted the company to trim its full-year guidance there.
Group revenue fell 2% for the first half of its 2026 fiscal year, and adjusted profit before tax declined 7%.
Premier Inn’s London hotels got a lift from summer events like the Oasis concerts at Wembley, where the company said it significantly outperformed the submarket on occupancy and revenue per available room (RevPAR). That helped push London accommodation sales up 1.2%.
