Controversial victory? Faitelson attacks Alana Flores after their fight in La Velada 5

Mexican Alana Flores became a trending topic this Saturday after her victory over Spanish influencer Ari Geli during La Velada del Año 5, the event organized by streamer Ibai Llanos. Her victory was applauded on social media; however, not everyone was satisfied, and among the most notable critics was Mexican journalist David Faitelson, who questioned the media coverage the fight received.

Faitelson compared the attention given to Alana with the sporting achievement of the Mexican diving team made up of Osmar Olvera, Alejandra Estudillo, Zyanya Parra and Randal Willars , who achieved second place in the Diving World Championships on the same day, but with much less publicity.

“Things from our country or our times… A whole scandal over a 'streamer' who pretends to be a boxer ('Barby' Juárez would destroy her in 10 seconds) while a world diving runner-up position, with real athletes, goes almost unnoticed,” he wrote on X.

The journalist didn't stop there. He also recalled the outstanding performance of Mía Cueva, a young Mexican diver of just 14 years old who achieved seventh place in the 1-meter springboard at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, downplaying Alana 's impact: "And you come to me with the story of a 'fresh girl' who calls herself a 'streamer' and dresses up as a boxer? You know where to go... or should I show you the way?"

Despite criticism, Alana Flores has earned her third consecutive victory at The Night of the Year and remains undefeated in this event, which, while not considered professional boxing, continues to attract millions of viewers for its combination of spectacle and entertainment.

Marc Crosas and Werevertumorro defend Alana

In the comments on David Faitelsón's posts, the voices of Marc Crosas and Gabriel Montiel (Werevertumorro) were present, defending Alana Flores' participation.

Crosas mainly criticized the TUDN commentator for only talking about things that "afford him a price."

Other users joined in with similar criticism, noting that Faitelson participated in the Supernova Boxing event, which also featured Alana.

For his part, Montiel noted that Alana has already won three fights and has undergone rigorous training.
