Fiumicino, fire at a shipyard: images of the flames

A thick cloud of black smoke has alarmed residents: the flames broke out shortly after 1 p.m. today, Saturday, August 16, inside a shipyard near Via Domenico Siciliani . The Municipality of Fiumicino reports a column of smoke visible from a distance, while firefighters, local police, the port authority, and civil defense are working to extinguish the blaze. The fire has affected several boats and some equipment depots; firefighters are working to contain the blaze and prevent burning boats from ending up in the river. The spectacular images of the flames being extinguished from the river illustrate the complexity of the operation. According to firefighters, there have been no injuries so far.
