Gemini on Android, Chat Search Arrives

Google is introducing Gemini chat search for Android , a feature already available on the web since May and on iOS for weeks. For Android users , historically the most loyal to the Google ecosystem, being the last to receive this basic feature seems like a mockery, but so be it…
Google Adds Chat Search to Gemini Android: It's About Time! The search appears as a field at the top of the side menu. A tap opens a full-screen interface where you can type any keyword to instantly find the conversation you're looking for.
This feature completely changes the way you use Gemini . Instead of being limited to one-time conversations, you can now turn the AI into a sort of personal archive. As Gemini's capabilities grow, from videos generated with Veo 3 to automatic summaries of Drive documents , having an easily searchable history becomes essential. There's no point in having a super-powerful assistant if you lose everything it's created.
AvailabilityAs is often the case with Google, the feature isn't coming to everyone at once. The rollout will be gradual , and some users will have to wait weeks before seeing it appear. The reason for this decision is unknown. The sidebar itself isn't universal yet, and some design elements, like Gemini's colorful four-ring animation, are only visible to a select few users.
The restyling that unifies everythingAlong with search, Google is introducing a new blue "Hello" home screen with version 16.26 of the app. The goal is to harmonize the visual identity across all platforms and make Gemini Android look less like the poor cousin of the web and iOS versions.
