Legality and transparency in procurement: the commissioner of the Port Authority of the Central-Northern Tyrrhenian Sea meets with the Prefect of Rome.

Rome, August 14 – (Adnkronos) – An institutional meeting was held at the Rome Prefecture between Raffaele Latrofa, Special Commissioner of the Central-Northern Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority, and Lamberto Giannini, Prefect of Rome. The discussions focused on legality and the prevention of illegal activities in the port sector.

Both parties expressed their full willingness to cooperate continuously, each within their respective areas of expertise, with the goal of further strengthening security in the ports of Civitavecchia, Fiumicino, and Gaeta. A key point of discussion was the currently applicable Legality Protocol, which governs the management of major contracts underway in Civitavecchia and Fiumicino.

"The Legality Protocol," Latrofa stated, "is a working method that is working, and we intend to continue and strengthen it. Prefect Giannini and I shared the need to make this tool even more effective, through regular, streamlined, and operational meetings that allow us to constantly monitor the status of contracts and intervene promptly in the event of critical issues. Legality is not an abstract value, but a concrete condition for ensuring the quality of works and the protection of the public interest."

The agreement reached during the meeting confirms the desire to develop a solid and transparent institutional relationship, combining technical expertise and legal compliance, with a view to supporting the infrastructural development and competitiveness of the port system, while safeguarding the principles of fairness and integrity.
