The African anticyclone will dominate the August bank holiday weekend. Intense heat and muggy weather, but also a few thunderstorms.

3BMeteo experts report that the African anticyclone will dominate the weather pattern until the August 15 weekend, bringing stable and mostly sunny weather across the Veneto region.
The heat will be intense and muggy, with temperatures expected to rise further between Thursday and Friday, when peaks of 37-38°C could be reached in the plains. In particular, peaks of 37°C are expected in Verona on Thursday, 36°C in Vicenza, 37°C in Treviso, 36°C in Padua, and 32°C in Venice.
However, some showers or brief heat thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon near the Alpine regions. Specifically, some daytime thunderstorms are expected on Thursday in the Verona and Belluno areas, on August 15th and Saturday also in the upper Vicenza area, and on Sunday across the entire pre-Alpine area and in Cadore. These thunderstorms, however, will not be enough to alleviate the heatwave, although maximum temperatures will drop by a few degrees on Sunday.
