Camera la festival d'Arles with the exhibition on Letizia Battaglia

Chamber - Italian Centre for the Photography participates in Les Rencontres d'Arles, the most important photography festival in Europe, from July 7th to 5th October in the French town, with the Letizia exhibition Battle. Always in search of life curated by Walter Guadagnini, artistic director of Camera. The festival, born in 1970 in the Provencal city, it is held every summer and represents a point of fundamental reference for photographers, curators, critics and enthusiasts from all over the world. The exhibition, co-produced by Camera with Jeu de Paume, after a first stop in Tours finds a new home in the Chapelle Saint-Martin du Méjan of Arles with 160 images, including prints original and modern, and 20 documents including magazines and newspapers for tell the work of the photographer from Palermo. Thanks to collaboration with the Letizia Battaglia Archive, the project wants to show the many facets of the activity of the photographer and her constant social commitment from her debut to Milan in the Seventies until his death in 2022. "Camera is among the protagonists at the Arles festival. We are happy to find ourselves in this place which, during the summer, becomes the nerve center of world photography. A making this moment even more beautiful is the collaboration with the Jeu de Paume, temple of French photography, which confirms the international reputation that Camera has gained in its first ten years of life" comments Walter Guadagnini, director of the Chamber. "A great summer for the Chamber which has received, last June 21st in Ostuni, one of the most important international awards for photography: the Lucie Award, in the Spotlight category. And now Camera arrives in Arles and does so with an exhibition of great scientific and social importance, created together with prestigious institutions. New collaborations that confirm a national growth and international, particularly significant in the year that coincides with our tenth anniversary" underlines the president Emanuele Chieli.
