Summer Nights: Ten Places to Experience The Deer Moon

Summer Nights: Ten Places to Experience The Deer Moon

The next July 10th promises to be an unforgettable evening thanks to the moon that will be full. Not only that. A powerful celestial event is approaching, namely the Deer Moon, a name given by the American Indians who defined the July one, based on the characteristics of the month's nature. In fact, in July the young male deer begin to grow new antlers that at the end of the month will be fully formed and begin to harden. In the lower areas the hay was cut, while in the higher ones the summer storms began, for this reason the full moon was also called the Hay Moon or Thunder Moon. The July full moon is also called the "Harvest Moon": not only for the harvest of wheat, but also for that of aromatic herbs, fruit and vegetables, many of which are then preserved for the winter. The phenomenon, which is repeated every year, is an opportunity to observe our satellite in all its beauty. In fact, if the sky is clear, the almost orange Moon will be visible around 8:37 p.m. and during the night you can admire it with the naked eye. But it will also be spectacular the day before and the day after. To admire it at its best, it is advisable to find a place with a horizon free of obstacles and possibly far from city lights. Here are some events dedicated to its best vision.
