An unknown object exploded in the Lublin region. The military issued a statement.

The object found in Łuków County, according to preliminary assessments, may be part of an old engine with a propeller, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported. At night, an unidentified object fell into a cornfield in the town of Osiny in Łuków County (Lublin Voivodeship) and exploded.

As Police Sergeant Marcin Józwik from the Łuków police told PAP on Wednesday, after 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, police received a report of an "explosion" in the town of Osiny in Łuków County. Officers found charred metal and plastic debris at the scene. As a result of the explosion, windows in several homes were shattered.

No one was injured in the incident, and authorities are currently investigating the identity of the unidentified object. According to the police, the investigation is being carried out under the supervision of the prosecutor; the military and relevant services have been notified.

As PAP has learned unofficially from sources close to the Ministry of National Defense, an analysis of the incident is currently underway, but the military has reportedly concluded that no violation of Polish airspace occurred overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday. This means that the object that fell near Osiny was most likely not a missile or a drone that originated from beyond the eastern border.

Shortly afterward, the information was confirmed in a post on the profile page of the 10th Operational Command of the Armed Forces. "Last night, no violation of Polish airspace was recorded, either from Ukraine or Belarus," the statement emphasized.

"Information about the discovery of an object which, according to preliminary assessments, may be part of an old engine with a propeller, was forwarded to the Air Operations Center - Air Component Command," DORSZ indicated.

As added, soldiers from the Military Police, among others, are working at the scene, conducting a detailed analysis of the object. "Air and Ground Search and Rescue Teams have been activated to check the area of the incident," DORSZ reported. (PAP)
