Officers from the Nowy Żmigród police station immediately went to the address and found the man described by the witness. They confirmed that he had been driving under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test showed the 71-year-old had a blood alcohol content of 3 per mille. Consequently, the officers confiscated the man's driver's license.

A few days later, on Saturday, August 16, before 8 a.m., officers from the Jasło traffic department, also in Kąty, spotted a Toyota driver not wearing a seatbelt. When they stopped him, they discovered they were dealing with the same man. This time, a breathalyzer test showed nearly 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his system.

Now the 71-year-old will be held accountable in court for not wearing a seat belt while driving, driving a motor vehicle without a driving license and for driving under the influence of alcohol twice.
