In the footsteps of Włodzimierz Dzieduszycki [PHOTOS]

By decision of the Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Władysław Ortyl, 2025 was officially declared the Year of Włodzimierz Dzieduszycki. This is an excellent opportunity to take a fresh look at the figure of one of the most outstanding Polish museum workers, collectors and social activists of the 19th century – the founder of the first Dzieduszycki Natural History Museum in Lviv on Polish soil.

In this context, new exhibits donated to the Dzieduszycki Museum in Zarzecze – a branch of the Museum in Jarosław Kamienica Orsettich – are of particular importance. They are presented in Włodzimierz Dzieduszycki's office in the Zarzecze palace, where a special exhibition dedicated to this figure has been prepared.

The collection of unique exhibits was deposited by the Dzieduszycki Family Association of the Sas coat of arms – an association of descendants of the family who have been actively cultivating the memory of their ancestor for years.

– By supporting the museum’s activities, they consistently acquire memorabilia related to their family history, often searching for them at art auctions in Poland and abroad. All objects related to W. Dzieduszycki donated this year were purchased in this way – to reach a place that passionately tells the story of the Dzieduszycki family and its extraordinary heritage.
