One person is dead and another is injured. Five people have been charged.
Four Poles and a Georgian have been charged with participating in a fatal fight involving the use of a dangerous weapon, Julia Szozda, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, told the Polish Press Agency (PAP) on Saturday. The victim, a Georgian, was stabbed.
An altercation between young people broke out on Friday morning near the Bogusława promenade in Szczecin. According to PAP, sources close to the investigation revealed a personal dispute involving the partner of one of the participants.
The altercation ended tragically. A fight broke out between two Georgians and four Poles. "One of the Georgians was fatally stabbed, while one of the Poles was slightly injured. After being treated, the police arrested him, as did the other participants in the fight," said Prosecutor Szozda.
On Saturday, the District Prosecutor's Office conducted investigations into the arrests of four Poles and a Georgian man, aged 21-23. At this stage of the investigation, while the determination of who inflicted the fatal blow on the victim is still ongoing, all three were charged with the same offenses. "Participating in a fatal fight with the use of a dangerous weapon," announced Prosecutor Szozda.
The prosecutor's office will file motions to the court for the suspects' pretrial detention. (PAP)
