"The best way to learn is through practical experience," goes a popular slogan. That's why educational institutions are so eager to participate in the Erasmus Plus program, which allows for establishing international contacts and acquiring new skills. For two years (from June 2023 to the end of May of this year), the King Jan III Sobieski Vocational School Complex in Przeworsk implemented a major project within the program. The results of this project included, among other things, students' recent two-week internships with foreign employers and a week-long work observation of Greek colleagues by two teachers of vocational subjects. The latter had the opportunity to learn about the work organization in companies related to the specific subjects they teach. The students, in turn, completed a two-week internship at a Greek catering and economics facility, where they diligently carried out their assigned tasks, acquiring valuable skills and simultaneously improving their English. And since life is not all about work and study, there was also time for sightseeing and exploring Greek culture and cuisine. The students of the Vocational School Complex in Przeworsk visited, among other places, the famous Meteora, i.e. monasteries built by monks on rocks, and the small town of Litochoro at the foot of Mount Olympus.
"In the afternoons, teachers and students explored the surrounding area, learned about the Greek city of Paralia Katerinis and its most important monuments, and savored local delicacies to their heart's content. It was a valuable time that fostered integration and the development of professional, social, cultural, and linguistic competencies for both students and teachers," summarized project coordinator Anna Słysz.
