Trump a Nobel candidate? Netanyahu hands over surprising document

“At this point, he is bringing peace to one country after another,” Netanyahu said just before a state dinner with the American leader, as the politicians were accompanied by media representatives. It was the third face-to-face meeting between the two leaders in Washington this year.

Netanyahu officially handed Trump the document nominating him for the Nobel Prize, emphasizing the US president's merits in working for peace in the Middle East.

Israel and the US are working together to find a solution for the Palestinians

Netanyahu, speaking to journalists, confirmed that Israel is working with the US administration to find countries willing to offer the Palestinians better prospects.

In turn, Donald Trump expressed hope that the Israeli-Iranian conflict was over and that there would be no need for further military action against Iran.

The US President also noted that talks with Tehran are planned, and the Iranian authorities "are ready to negotiate". He added that in the future he would like to consider lifting some sanctions against Iran.

Military Support for Ukraine. Trump Leaves No Illusions

Asked about military aid for Ukraine, Trump responded unequivocally that "they will send more weapons." "They have to be able to defend themselves. They are under very heavy attack. We will have to send more weapons, primarily defensive weapons," he added.

At the same time, he criticized Vladimir Putin's attitude, admitting that he was not satisfied with his actions. He stated that what was happening between Moscow and Kiev was a "terrible thing."

Although White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt announced a temporary halt in arms deliveries that same day due to a standard Pentagon review, Trump added: "I stop wars. I hate to see people die. (...) I'm disappointed that Putin didn't end it," he emphasized.

Gaza Strip – Is a Breakthrough Coming? US Envoy on Possible Ceasefire

Steve Witkoff, the US Middle East envoy, said there is a real chance of a peace deal in the Gaza Strip. “I hope it happens very soon,” he said during a briefing requested by President Trump.

Peace talks between Hamas and Israel have been underway in Doha, Qatar, for several days, and Trump is reportedly putting intense pressure on a truce. The White House said Witkoff would travel to Qatar in the coming days to participate in the negotiations.
