A two-lane overpass and a new roundabout. A key bypass is changing its face

- The so-called biscuit roundabout and an overpass with two lanes of traffic in each direction, which will run above the roundabout.
- This is what the rebuilt northern bypass of Opole is expected to look like in September 2026.
- The investment has just started in earnest. It is not only to increase the capacity of the bypass, but also to significantly facilitate access to the economic zone.
- The reconstruction of the intersection of the Opole northern bypass with Partyzancka Street has begun. For now, work is being carried out along the northern bypass and Partyzancka Street. The first stage involves demolition and earthworks, construction of connecting roads and part of the road along Partyzancka Street - the mayor of Opole, Arkadiusz Wiśniewski, informed on Facebook.
Finally, a biscuit roundabout and an overpass with two lanes in each direction will be built, which will run over the roundabout. The end of the works is planned for September next year.
- added the local government official on Facebook.
As the Opole.naszemiasto.pl portal reminds, the investment is to improve the capacity of the intersection, especially the bypass, and to improve access to the Opole economic zone and the stadium.
Workers are also preparing the site for the Partyzancka Street to bypass (towards the bridge). The cost of building the junction is PLN 66 million. The money comes from Polski Ład and the city budget. The work is being carried out by the Opole company Firma Himmel i Papesch.
The reconstruction of the northern bypass of Opole is one of several important road investments in this city- Let us recall that the expansion of national road no. 46 has also started on the section from the roundabout in Wrzoska to the borders of Opole. An additional roadway is being built there, thanks to which after the work is completed, drivers will have two lanes of traffic in each direction at their disposal - informs Opole.naszemiasto.pl.
The investment is related to the development of industrial areas in Wrzoska. Among other things, the communication system in the area of the special economic zone is to be improved .
An environmental decision has also been issued for the expansion of the section of national road no. 46 from Niemodlin to Opole. Tenders will be announced this year. GDDKiA wants to build a second carriageway along DK46 on the sections Niemodlin-Dąbrowa and Dąbrowa-Opole with a total length of 8.3 km.
Due to its connection with the A4 motorway junction, this section of the road is one of the most heavily used in the region.
