Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons is a renowned family business founded in Dubai in 1950, specializing in luxury watches and jewelry . Today, it is an icon of luxury in the Middle East region, which was the first to represent brands such as Rolex (since 1952) and Patek Philippe (since 1960) in the UAE .

Ressence , on the other hand, is a Belgian manufacture founded by designer Benoît Mintiens, which has been redefining the approach to watchmaking since 2010. Instead of traditional hands, a crown and unnecessary details, it focuses on a fluid, organic design, pushing the boundaries of the classic perception of a watch. Its flagship models, such as the TYPE 1, TYPE 3 and TYPE 8, have won awards and recognition thanks to the unique ROCS system (Ressence Orbital Convex System), which transforms the dial into a moving composition.

The collaboration between the two houses resulted in a unique piece – the TYPE 9 S75 – which is not only a watch, but also a symbolic story about time, place and heritage .

This is a first of its kind in the history of watchmaking – an authentic interpretation of a desert landscape captured in microscopic grains that reflect the passage of time like an ancient hourglass.

The 39 mm diameter and only 11 mm thick case houses an advanced automatic movement with the patented ROCS 9 (Ressence Orbital Convex System), providing a 36-hour power reserve . The TYPE 9 S75 does not have a traditional crown – setting and winding is done using the characteristic Ressence rotating caseback. In turn, green Super-LumiNova® on the engraved indexes ensures legibility even at night.

The watch is finished with a strap made of camel leather – a rare material that symbolises regional identity.

" The idea of ​​measuring time through the movement of grains of sand is at the heart of this design. The watch combines elements of an ancient hourglass, an organic dome dial reminiscent of sand dunes, and a regional identity, symbolized by a mix of sand collected from all seven Emirates. That's quite a lot for a 39mm watch," Benoît Mintiens, founder of Ressence, said in a statement.
