Exhibitions at the Municipal Tourism Offices of Almeida, Castelo Mendo and Vilar Formoso

The Municipal Tourism Offices of Almeida , Castelo Mendo and Vilar Formoso are hosting new exhibitions that are open to the public until September 30th.
"Brushstrokes, Shapes, and Colors" is the title of the collective painting exhibition on display at Turismo de Almeida. Several artists are exhibiting their works, the result of live painting activities at the 19th-Century Market in Cerco de Almeida. The result is a multiplicity of expressions encompassing painting, where each work reveals a unique and personal approach.
At the Castelo Mendo Municipal Tourism Office, Patrícia Martins, a native of Pinhel , presents a crafts exhibition. After completing her studies in Interior Design and Equipment at ESART (Higher School of Applied Arts) in Castelo Branco, she began working in her field of study, simultaneously joining the Portuguese Post Office, a job she still holds. Patrícia has participated in various events in the Pinhel municipalities, such as the FTAE (Federal Foundation of the Portuguese Empire), the Medieval Fair, and other local initiatives, sharing her work with the community and friends. What began as an occasional invitation became an important hobby in her life, which she maintains with dedication to this day. Through her art, she continues to express her creativity, whether through EVA foam or fabric painting, contributing to the appreciation of local traditions and crafts.
Vilar Formoso Tourism is hosting the exhibition "Vela e Alma" (Sail and Soul) by Mara Matos. Aged 16 and living in Almeida, Mara Matos discovered her love for crafts when, as a child, she accompanied her mother to local fairs. Two years ago, her interest in creating decorative candles and jewelry blossomed, transforming it from a curiosity into a personal passion. With her creations, she aims to inspire other children and young people to value crafts as a form of expression and connection to the community.
