Rally at the UN!

Trump didn't go to the UN General Assembly to deliver a state address. No. Nothing like that. He didn't go to take a stance on global challenges, two wars, or American leadership. He went to a rally. Pure and simple. Over an hour. He started lashing out at the United Nations. He ended up lashing out at the United Nations. A rally! Trump was Trump. Just like himself. Nothing like a president of the United States. Zero. Terrible.

He immediately began attacking the building. Yes, the UN building. The one he'd bid on, back then, for $500 million. It cost $5 billion. "Scams." Five times more. Broken escalators, a non-functioning telephone. A disaster. Then he bragged. About his achievements. About the seven wars he claims to have ended. He said little about Gaza. Almost nothing about Ukraine. Only to lash out at NATO allies. And the Europeans, of course. Who still buy oil and gas from Moscow. It's their fault. Always theirs. Here he scored a point. Unnecessary.

Then he detoured to the climate. At length. For what? To bash the UN again. And the billions spent on global warming. Renewable energy? "They never pay off." Indeed. He repeated it countless times. And always slamming the "apostles of climate doom." Ridiculous.

In the middle, of course, Biden couldn't be left out. And the Biden administration. The usual punching bag. And immigration. Ah, immigration! "Criminals, mentally ill people, ex-convicts." All entering the US with wide-open doors. "But it's over!" he said. Of course it is. Maduro also got the message. "There will be no more speedboats transporting drugs."

Trump is hopeless. Ultra-narcissistic. Unmeasured. Bipolar. Everything the others did? A disaster. Everything he did? A triumph. Just like that. That's him. It was a good day. Only for him. A total disappointment for those expecting a strong, internationally-directed state speech, staking out positions on both wars, strengthening NATO, and underscoring American leadership. None of that. Zero. Trump is in another galaxy.
