Local authority suspends payment of fees to market vendors

Local authority suspends payment of fees to market vendors

The measure includes the fairs held on the 1st and 18th of each month (in Sabrosa) and on the 6th and 22nd (in São Martinho de Anta) and aims to support local traders, through the recognition of the fairs as “events of clear and relevant municipal interest”.

In a note, the municipality also emphasizes that “the enjoyment of the exemption is subject to compliance with a set of conditions, among which the following stand out: the absence of outstanding debts to the Municipality of Sabrosa, appropriate cleaning and maintenance, promoting good environmental practices and maintaining the obligation to issue licenses or authorizations and legally required obligations”.

This decision promoted by the Sabrosa City Council “reinforces the municipality’s commitment to local, local, fairer and more sustainable trade, promoting a more dynamic territory with a future”, concludes the statement.

At a time when information is more important than ever, support regional and local journalism. Access to most of VTM's news is (still) free, but it is not free of charge. Journalism costs money and requires investment. This contribution is a way of directly supporting A Voz de Trás-os-Montes and its journalists. Our contribution is independent and local journalism, but not only that. It is continuing to inform despite all the contingencies of confinement, without having stopped for a single day.
