Funchal Captaincy extends strong wind warning

The Port Authority of Funchal extended the strong wind warning in Madeira this Saturday until 6:00 am on Sunday.
Civil Protection has already indicated that the south coast and mountains will be under a yellow heat warning until Tuesday.
According to information on the Regional Civil Protection Service website, the yellow warning for hot weather comes into effect at 9:00 am on Sunday and lasts until midnight on Tuesday.
On the south coast and in the mountainous regions of Madeira Island, the air temperature may exceed 29ºC (degrees Celsius).
The yellow warning is the least serious on a scale of three and means “risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather situation”.
The Port Authority of Funchal has extended the strong wind warning for the coast of the Madeira archipelago, initially in effect until 6:00 pm on Saturday, until 6:00 am on Sunday.
The warning, issued by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), indicates fresh to very fresh winds, sometimes strong, with gusts between 51 and 62 km/hour.
The Port Authority of Funchal alerts the entire maritime community and the general public to the precautions to be taken, both when preparing to go to sea and when at sea or in coastal areas, in particular, reinforcing the mooring of moored and anchored vessels and avoiding walks in areas exposed to rough seas.
