A US court has ordered the administration of US President Donald Trump to unfreeze foreign aid within two days, the Associated Press (AP) reports.
It is noted that in mid-February, a federal judge in the United States already instructed the Trump administration to resume frozen foreign aid, but no action followed.
"A federal judge on Tuesday gave the Trump administration less than two days to unblock billions of dollars in U.S. foreign aid, saying the administration had shown no sign of complying with his [first] court order," the report said.
As the publication clarifies, despite the February 13 decree, employees of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), as well as non-profit organizations, claim that they are not aware of a single payment that was made.
Earlier it became known that the Trump administration has begun mass layoffs at USAID. The cuts are reported to affect thousands of employees.
