If it weren’t for the noise in the media…

Surrogate mother Anastasia POKOLNISHKO finally received her money after three months of waiting. The woman had to make a fuss to get paid by the Georgian company through which she gave birth to a child for a Chinese couple.
In early February, Anastasia, without hiding her name or face, told how she went to Tbilisi to become a surrogate mother and thereby improve the family's financial situation (see "Sometimes it seems to me that it would be better if I looked for other options...", "Vremya" from 6.2.2025 ). According to the contract, the company was supposed to pay Anastasia, who gave birth to a healthy baby for parents from China in mid-November, $15,000. But the procedure dragged on too long.
- After your publication, journalists from Kazakhstan and then from Georgia contacted me. I gave interviews because I thought that I could attract attention not only to my problem: I know that there are women who found themselves in a similar situation, but were afraid to speak out openly, - says Anastasia. - Every day I corresponded with the company, they promised me: "The money will arrive tomorrow, we will send it to you any minute now."
Through Georgian journalists, I was found by a local lawyer who offered free legal assistance. On her advice, we teamed up with another surrogate mother from Kazakhstan (she also couldn’t get money) and filed a complaint with the Georgian prosecutor’s office.
The other day I received the entire amount, so I will not deal with this matter any more. But I know that there are still Kazakh women living in Georgia who have not been paid by the company. Now they are not even receiving their daily allowance for accommodation and food. They are in a stalemate: they cannot return home and receive their fee.
If it weren't for the media noise, I don't know how it would have ended for me. Thank you for your support!
