Man who kidnapped mute girl asks to be released from pretrial detention center

Oleg Kuklin, accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old mute girl in Yekaterinburg, asked to be released from the pretrial detention center, KP.RU writes. The suspect claims that he was drunk and mistook the girl for another woman.
According to the publication, 51-year-old Oleg Kuklin stated that he did not harm the minor girl and had no evil intentions. He explained that his wife did not let the girl into the apartment, being jealous, and when he went out into the entrance, the girl was already gone.
She didn't understand and got jealous. I explained everything to her, but when I went out into the entrance, the girl was nowhere to be found , - Kuklin said .
He faces between five and 12 years in prison.
Oleg Kuklin was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping the girl on February 17. He was sent to a pretrial detention center until April 14. According to the investigation, the man, while drunk, walked around the city with the teenager and then took her to his home. The girl was kidnapped on February 14.
