More than 35 km of roads will be repaired this summer in Sakhalin

In the territory of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, in the Novoaleksandrovsk planning area, repairs have been completed on a 1.4-kilometer section of the regional section of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk – Okha highway.
"We set the builders the task of renewing the road surface. The work was completed in a short time. As a result, the busy highway leading from the regional center to the north of the island has become safer, there will be fewer traffic jams. And this is important for all residents," said Alexey Belik, Chairman of the Regional Government.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Road Management of the island region, the asphalt concrete surface has been renewed over an area of over 13 thousand square meters, and markings have been applied.
The work was carried out under the national project "Infrastructure for Life", launched on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It took only two months to reconstruct the exit from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in the northern direction.
Thanks to this national project, repairs are underway in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on two sections of Mira Avenue – from the Bubble Gum store to the turnoff to the Okhotskaya Highway and between Sakhalinskaya and Ukrainskaya Streets, as well as a section of the Dalnee – Yolochki highway and the bridge over the Khristoforovka River. This year, the region plans to modernize more than 35 kilometers of highways. The implementation of the national project is under the personal control of Governor Valery Limarenko, the press service of the regional government reports.
