Novgorod residents found 117 more ticks on themselves

Over the past week, the Office of Rospotrebnadzor for Novgorod Oblast received information about 117 cases of tick bites in the region. In 20 cases, minors were the victims. 4 of them received emergency immunoprophylaxis. It should be noted that the seasonal activity of ticks has decreased .
As of July 2, a total of 2,670 people, including 565 children, have sought medical help for tick bites. Emergency prophylaxis with anti-tick immunoglobulin was given to 172 victims of tick bites, including 161 children.
Of the 2,522 ticks studied in the Novgorod laboratory, the tick-borne encephalitis virus was detected in 10 specimens (0.4%), the pathogen of systemic tick-borne borreliosis was detected in 283 specimens (30.6%), the pathogen of human monocytic ehrlichiosis was detected in 30 specimens (3.3%), and the pathogen of human granulocytic anaplasmosis was detected in 1 specimen (0.2%).
The largest number of cases of bites were registered in: summer cottages and garden plots – 891 cases (33.4%), the surrounding area – 855 cases (32%), and also in the forest – 312 cases (11.7%).
