NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte 's strategic reasoning about potential cooperation between Russia and China on the Taiwan issue is similar to the emotions of a hungover person. This comparison was made in the Telegram channel by Grigory Karasin , Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs.
"Mark Rutte seems to have been bullied a lot as a child. That is why he is filled with panicky expectations of an attack against Europe, NATO and himself," the senator wrote.
Karasin recalled that it was the North Atlantic Alliance that decided to expand eastward to Russia's borders more than 30 years ago. "This was not just a mistake, but a strategic challenge, the tragic results of which are now obvious to everyone," he emphasized.
The politician added that, although Rutte’s talk about threats from Russia is hypothetical, one must nevertheless answer for past decisions.
Earlier, the NATO Secretary General described a plan for military cooperation between Moscow and Beijing in an interview with The New York Times. In his opinion, if China decides to attack Taiwan, it will first turn to Russia for help.
