Russia has announced the benefits for college applicants

The system of secondary vocational education (SVE) is under the jurisdiction of the regions, and therefore their budgets are annually replenished with funds for free education of children in the most in-demand specialties in the region, said Svetlana Bessarab , a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs. She reported this in a conversation with Lenta.ru.

Bessarab recalled that in Moscow , St. Petersburg and the Lipetsk region, an experiment is underway to allow school graduates to enter colleges and technical schools. According to it, applicants who choose secondary vocational education can only take Russian and mathematics as entrance exams. According to her, this procedure for admission, if successful, could cover all regions of Russia.

Career guidance is also of great importance, when students from the sixth grade visit enterprises and future employers, she said. In such cases, a tripartite agreement is concluded between the employer, the student and the educational organization, the parliamentarian explained.

"In accordance with the contract, the employer, as a rule, guarantees work and employment, which is mandatory after graduating from a secondary vocational school. All summer practices and internships take place with this employer, moreover, they often pay additional social guarantees. This is, for example, an additional stipend from the employer, a dormitory or rent for out-of-towners. Well, that is, they give the future specialist the opportunity to try themselves in production right now," Bessarab said.

It was previously reported that from June 2026, working Russian parents will be entitled to an annual family payment. This was announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin .
