In Russia today, as before, the most in-demand among blue-collar jobs are construction professions, said State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab . She shared her opinion in a conversation with Lenta.ru.

The parliamentarian advised that when choosing an educational institution for secondary vocational training, one should rely primarily on the most popular industries in one's region. She explained that often a lot depends not only on the already distributed areas of economic activity, but also on what investments are coming to the region.

"For example, a factory is being built, and we can predict that three years after construction and delivery of equipment, turners, fitters, milling machine operators, and so on will be needed there. Or, on the contrary, a glass factory and glassmakers are needed. Well, roughly speaking, the region is already preparing the necessary specialties in advance, and since the region pays, it can, as they say, call the tune in this matter," Bessarab explained.

At the same time, the deputy noted that in Russia as a whole, such blue-collar jobs as turners, fitters, plasterers, painters, masons, tile layers and other construction professions are still in demand. She explained such excitement by the outflow of migrants from the construction industry and the shortage of specialists.

Earlier, Bessarab spoke about the benefits for applicants to colleges. She recalled that the system of secondary vocational education is under the jurisdiction of the regions, and therefore their budgets annually replenish funds for free education of children in the most popular specialties in the region.
