Second round: more than 130 Novgorod graduates are retaking social studies today

Today, in the Novgorod Region, graduates are retaking the Unified State Exam in one subject. As explained by the regional Ministry of Education, this opportunity this year exists only for graduates of the 2024/2025 academic year who have already taken exams this year. They could choose one subject from those they have already taken, regardless of the result they received for it, but the first result will be canceled, and the retake result will be counted. An application for participation in the retake had to be submitted before July 1 at school. The opportunity to retake the Unified State Exam appeared last year, when special 2 days appeared in the Unified State Exam schedule for the first time. For reference: in 2024, 316 graduates (16.7% of the total number of those taking the exam) decided to retake the exam in the Novgorod Region, of which 15% worsened their result. This year, 417 people (20.4%) are retaking the exam. It turned out that the largest number of people wanting to retake the exam was social studies – 135 of them.

Other subjects: advanced mathematics – 66 + 9 basic level, computer science – 61, Russian language – 39, chemistry – 34, biology – 28. And 1 person will retake German and geography.
