The political confrontation between US President Donald Trump and American billionaire Elon Musk will be a battle of ambitions, a battle of "the richest man in the world against one of the most influential." This is the assessment of what is happening given by retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen, REN TV reports .

Earlier, inventor Elon Musk announced on the social network X the creation of a new political party in the United States called "America". It will oppose both Democrats and Republicans.

Rasmussen called both Trump and Musk narcissists with inflated egos.

"Elon is right about one thing: when it comes to foreign policy, especially US aggression, both parties (Democrats and Republicans) are like twins," the expert noted. He cited Israel as an example: neither Democrats nor Republicans criticize events with a large number of victims and bombed civilian infrastructure.

In discussing the outcome of the political standoff, Rasmussen suggested that the America Party is unlikely to immediately become as large as the first two, but in conditions of tough competition it could become a decisive factor.

Earlier, Musk had named the reason for his change of heart towards Trump. According to him, this happened after the US budget deficit increased to $2.5 trillion.
